Sarasota High School Foundation

From providing assistance to current students in need, to hosting teacher and alumni gatherings and awarding annual scholarships, the Sarasota High School Foundation exists to support teaching and learning at the school by enhancing relationships among SHS alumni, faculty, students and friends.

There is a strong bond among those who have attended the same school. Recollections of teachers, classes, rally’s, sporting events, proms, reunions and other social events make for happy memories. Sarasota High School is the oldest public school in the county with over one hundred years of graduates. Many remain in contact throughout their lives and maintain ties to their alma mater and the community. The Sarasota High School Foundation is dedicated to serving the needs of today’s students, teachers and alumnus of SHS. We, too, have ties to the school and to Sarasota in general and it is our mission to serve the needs of students, teachers and alumnus. The Foundation depends on the generosity of graduates and local businesses. For instance, the class of 1959 donated $1200 to support the Foundation and SHS. As John Feight of that class put it, “Supporting a school program will reconnect us directly back to the school…where we first met…where we still connect.” The SHS Foundation is classified as a 501(c)(3) with the IRS. Your donation will be completely deductible on your tax return.
